Model Request Letter for Grant of One Increment

Government servants are aware that the Ministry of Finance and Railways, both have already issued orders for grant of one increment in the pre-revised pay scale to nullify the anomaly in respect of central government employees who were in receipt of pre-revised increment between February 2006 to June 2006.
A model requesting the concerned head of Office for grant of one increment and drawal of arrears is published below for ready use by the Officers:

Kind reference is invited to the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure O.M.No.10/02/2011- E.III/A dated 19th March, 2012 wherein all the central government employees who were due to get their annual increment between February to June during 2006 were granted one increment on 1.1.2006 in the pre-revised pay scale as a one time measure and there after next increment in the revised pay structure on 1.7.2006 as per Rule 10 of CCS(RP) Rules, 2008 (Copy enclosed for ready reference).
I wish to submit that my increment in pre revised pay scale  was on __________ and hence, in terms of the above Office Memorandum, I am eligible for one additional increment in pre-revised pay scale as a one time measure and also eligible for  next increment in the revised pay structure on 1.7.2006 as per Rule 10 of CCS(RP) Rules, 2008.
In view of above submission,  I request that  one additional increment may kindly be granted and my pay may please be fixed  as stipulated in above O.M. and that the arrears of pay and allowance may kindly be drawn and paid to me at an early date.

Interest rates on small savings revised w.e.f. 01/04/2012

The Finance Ministry (Budget Division) has issued an Office Memorandum O.M.No: 6-1/2011-NS.II (Pt) dated 26.03.2012 for revision of Interest Rates for various small saving schemes operated mainly through post offices and PPF.

Based on the recommendations of Shyamala Gopinath Committee for comprehensive review of National Small Savings Fund (NSSF), Government had earlier taken the decision that interest rates of various small savings shall be reviewed every financial year and revsions in the same to be notified before 1st of April of that year.

Accordingly the present revision in the interest rates of various small saving scheme has been made. The following table provides the revision made:

GS visited Postal Directorate on 22/03/2012.

I along with Shri Ajit Kumar, ASP (PMU) met with the various DDGs and other concerned officers in the Postal Directorate. The following issues were discussed with them in detailed. The present status in respect of these issues is furnished below for the information of all CHQ Office Bearers, Circle Secretaries and Members.
 
1. Up-gradation of GP of IP from Rs. 4200/- to Rs. 4600/-.
  File is still under process in the Postal Directorate in a positive manner and the same is likely to be sent to the MOF shortly.

2. Holding of supplementary DPC for promotion to PS Gr. B for the year 2011.
  ACRs of few officers are required and result of supplementary DPC is likely to be completed within a couple of months.
 
3. Holding of DPC to PS Gr. B for the year 2012.
  ACRs are yet to be called for from Circles. This will be done after issue of result of supplementary DPC to PS Gr. B for the year 2011.
 
4. Holding of DPC for the promotion to JTS, Group A.
  The required information has already been provided to UPSC.
 
5. Declaration of result of IP examination 2011.
  File is still with the Secretary (Posts) for decision in respect of PM Grade-I officials. After clearance of the file, result will be announced shortly.

Sr.Postmaster CAT case update

Sr. Postmaster CAT case came up before the Hon'ble CAT bench Chandigarh but no hearing took place as no reply has been filed by the department. The hearing has been adjourned to 11-4-2012.

Eligiblity of IPO Exam in DOP

DEPARTMENTAL EXAM IN IPO
ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA:-
1.     He/She should be a permanent employee of the Department.
2.     The candidate should complete Minimum Five years in PA/SA cadre.
3.     The Maximum Age limit for General Category is 40 years, for SC/ST 45 years.
4.     The candidate should know to ride a bicycle.
5.     The candidate should have satisfactory record of service.
6.     The candidates can Avail Maximum Four chances for General Category & six Chances for SC/ST.
7.     The candidate should secure Minimum 45% Marks aggregate from all Papers& 40% Marks in any one paper.

Additional conditions for Surplus qualified candidates:
1.     For the selection as a surplus candidate he / she should require to give a choice in the descending order of preference, covering all the 22 circles otherwise he/she will not be considered for the allotment.
2.     The surplus qualified candidate should pass the language proficiency test for the state concerned, within the period of probation of two years, failing to this the candidate will be reverted to their substantive cadre.
3.     NOTE- This year no surplus option for IPO Candidate
